It looks like some of the battles have moved into the citizenry, with hundreds
of millions of dollars [over $100 million already, most of which is
ideological/single issue] in 527s being poured into mostly attack ads on the Dem/Rep
presidential candidates. This is not political activism; that is citizen
mobilization in phone calls, letters to the editor, financial contributions,
polling, door-to-door canvassing, placing signs, hats and bumper stickers.
