"We need to change how we elect the US president. Right now, there's a National Popular Vote movement. It would essentially make it so we have a direct popular election of our president. This would be an improvement over the current Electoral College. And, perhaps that's the most realistic option in the near future, especially since there are so few competitive states in our presidential elections. But it'd be even better if we could recapture the original intent of the Electoral College(EC) to work like a more robust form of direct democracy, such as is only possible with a small number of participants and/or relatively few decisions have to be made."
