The Seattle Times: State of Washington Senate OKs online only vote for military members

"The Washington state Senate has approved a bill that streamlines voting for armed forces members serving abroad. ...
Under the measure, current law is amended so that armed forces members only have to send in a scanned copy of their ballot and signature via e-mail. Previously, law called for armed forces members to also send in a ballot via mail or fax.
Supporters say that many armed forces members are stationed in remote areas and sending in physical ballot is difficult.
On Thursday night, a vote on the bill was pulled because several senators had concerns about security of online voting -- not realizing that online voting with PDFs already existed.
The bill now goes to the House."
