Restoring municipal voting rights for all documented non-citizen residents, and, for democracy

From Deep Dish TV's Uprooted blog, which offers reader commenting:
"New York Coalition to Expand Voting Rights (NYCEVR) is working to bring more New Yorkers into the local democratic process by restoring municipal voting rights for all documented residents in New York City. Legislation on the issue of municipal voting rights for legal residents was introduced to the New York City Council in November 2010, and their work now is to do community education around the city as momentum builds. These testimonials seek to inform viewers about the issue of non-citizen voting and start a conversation about the state of our democracy."
