"Florida's charged campaign for governor -- which featured waves of negative television ads -- might have turned off a higher number of voters last year.

A state report released this week unexpectedly found that the number of voters who did not cast a 'valid' vote for governor nearly doubled from four years ago, surging from 0.97 percent in 2006 to 1.83 percent overall."
